Ray and Linda are in Chicago this week for a conference. We drove into the city yesterday to see them and visit Millennium park.

We picked up Lucy's glasses today. She is doing really well with them so far. She is really surprised at how the floor looks. She keeps looking at the ground and then she says her balance is different.

Step Up Day

Today was Lucy's last day of preschool until the fall. They had a ceremony called Step Up Day. They sang songs, got a certificate and then went outside for games and snacks. In the photo are Elli, Allison, Grace and Lucy. Adam and Daniel chose to sit with their parents.

Current Events

On Friday there was a beautiful rainbow. I had to take a picture so Lucy could see it on the computer. Last week Lucy had vision testing at school and after a trip to the Will County Dept of Health and then to our family eye doctor we discovered that Lucy is pretty nearsighted. We ordered glasses and they should be arriving soon. She seems to be ok with the idea of having glasses. She picked out frames that look almost exactly like mine. I was expecting her to pick Disney or something more fun.

We finally found Toodee yesterday. We have been looking at our local store for a few months and happened to get lucky yesterday.

Outside Again

We didn't go outside to play for a few of days, because every time we did Maggie's eyes would water and she would get really congested. She used the extra energy to climb on the table, drive Lucy nuts and to carry her chair around the house so she could reach fun things. Well, mom said enough is enough and took her to the doctor to get recommendations on treating the outdoor allergies. Maggie is now taking an over-the-counter medicine that is really helping her and we can play outside again! I am so glad to have my happy girl back.
I took the girls on a ride in the bike trailer Sunday afternoon while Jon worked on the Mustang. We had a great time and Maggie wouldn't take her helmet off.
