Our camera will record short vidoes. I haven't done much with this feature and usually they end up on the cutting room floor.

Boots

Lucy likes to pretend to be Dora. When she does this, Maggie becomes Boots, Daddy is Diego and I am Alicia. When I got Maggie bundled up to go to the park Lucy said, "Boots is a polar bear!"

Boots...errr Maggie can roll both left and right from her front to her back. She rolls every time I put her on her tummy. We are still figuring out the back to front roll. She has done it a couple of times but usually gets stuck on her arm.

Lucy had a minor nose bonk and insisted on having a Dora band aid.

Maggie had a little bit of a stuffy nose last week, so our friend Froggy came to visit.

Some days are best spent in bed.

March Madness

March Madness has found our house. Lucy requested to wear her cheerleader costume today.

Maggie likes to play on her mat and will twist her body so she can see the TV.

Mommy's Card

When I got Lucy out of bed this morning, I asked her what we should do to celebrate my birthday. Her response was, "Make a birthday card!!" She had a lot of fun making Jon's and she really likes art projects. She then asked, "Maggie's birthday tomorrow?" I tried to explain no, but Lucy doesn't really understand time yet. Every once in a while she will say Grandma's coming in a few weeks. But I just think she wants the grandparents to visit.
Lucy did everything. I just guided her hand to do the writing and drawings. She told me what to write/draw. Maggie even helped. She ripped one of the Backyardigan stickers. Lucy insisted that we tape it to fix it. So we did.

More B-Day Hats

Lucy and the birthday girl are too cool.
If Maggie knew how to use the phone she would call Children's Services for making her look so silly.

This is Lucy's Cars hat. I was looking for a sun hat for Maggie to wear to the park when I saw a really cute Dora hat for Lucy. She told me, "No Dora!!! McQueen." She slept with it in her bed last night.

Maggie's sun hat. After I couldn't find what I was looking for, I remembered I had one that used to belong to Little Audrey. What a look of adoration. What else could a mom want on her birthday?

Daddy's B-day card

Lucy helped me make this fantastic card for Jon. She placed all the stickers and drew the lines and dots. She told me to draw Dora, Diego, Boots and Baby Jaguar when I asked her what we should put on the card. She also instructed me on what colors to use for the letters.

For the inside I wrote "Love, Robin", glued the shamrock, made the top line and drew the Blues clues (animal prints). Lucy placed all the stickers and wrote the other words with me guiding her hand. She also did the lines and dots.

Happy Dunce Cap Day

Jon turned 29 today. We celebrated by going out to eat at Red Lobster and then coming home for cake, ice cream and presents. Lucy and I had great fun making party hats and a wonderful card for Jon.

Nice Weather and Good Food

Lucy enjoys sharing a yogurt snack with Daddy before bedtime.
Maggie's first attempt at eating rice cereal went fairly well today. We had her four month Dr. visit Friday. She got 4 vaccinations and an exam. Maggie is weighing in at 16lb 6oz. That is in the 95th percentile. She is in the 70th percentile for height. The Dr. said that Maggie will probably be taller than my 5'4". He also okayed us to start on solids and gave us some recommendations for getting Maggie to be a good sleeper.
Lucy had a great time at the park yesterday, but this warmer weather has been hard on her eye. She rubbed her eye a little too much and got a stye.

Maggie had fun a the park too. So much she fell asleep.

I'm 4 months old

Maggie is 4 months old today. Here are some fun tidbits:

• Maggie makes lots of sounds including; grunting, squealing, laughing (when you kiss her hands or cheeks, when Lucy or the dogs are playing), mmmbbb, aaaaoooohhh, eeeemmmm, baaa, paapaapaa, aarrraahh, wwwaaawwwaa, ggghhh
• She doesn't love tummy time, but she tolerates it. We try to fit it in several small sessions throughout the day. Mostly on the changing table after diaper changes. And one big session in Lucy's room after lunch. Lucy, Mommy and Maggie will all get on our tummies. Lucy will play with Maggie and if Maggie starts crying Lucy tells her, "More tummy time Maggie!!!"
• Maggie is really good at eye contact and following objects. Again, Lucy is a popular target. She will also follow toys, Mommy/Daddy's finger or face. And of course the dogs.
• Maggie is super strong. She can support her head really well when held or when in the exersaucer. She can also stand for a while with minimal help. She will push up on her arm during tummy time, but for the most part she rests on her elbows.
• Maggie is getting better at grasping. She has always held my fingers when I feed her, but now she shakes rattles. Brings the rattle to her mouth. And will hold a toy for a few minutes.
• Maggie likes to play "Up, Up, Up" - Maggie lays on a blanket and when she lifts her head a little I will pull her up by her arms and say, "Up, Up, Up". If she lifts her head and I don't respond occasionally she will start going, "papapa". After she has been siting for a little bit I will let her fall back gently and say"Bonk!" Then we do it again. She loves it!
• She has only rolled over the one time, and that was just an accident.
• She is good at following voices and smiles when you say her name.
• Maggie has just started to razz (see above photo).
• Maggie sits with support, but not on her own. She likes to be upright and will get really mad if you try to cradle her like a baby.

Maggie was ready for a nap. Not in the mood for pictures.
Lucy insisted on getting out her pink hat even though I told her it was too little. After trying to wear it a couple of times she decided it was best to give it to "Little Maggie."
