Glenn, Katie, Colleen and Sean came for a visit this weekend. We had lots of fun playing cards, watching football and visiting.
All here and accounted for. I had a prenatal visit on Fri. The baby and I are still doing fine.
"So cute," was Lucy's phrase for the day. It's amazing to hear from Lucy the things I say repetitively. And most of the time I don't realize how much I say something until it starts coming out of Lucy.

Grandma Kathy brought us these watering cans. They used to be Mommy's. We have had great fun with them in the bathtub. We haven't watered our flowers outside yet, because they got so much rain over the weekend.
Lucy stole the nursing pillow out of the baby's room. She thinks it is quite comfy. I have a feeling that a lot of the stuff Mommy is unpacking will migrate into Lucy's room.
Lucy wasn't ready to give the pillow or book up at nap time, so we piled them all in bed.
Grandparents Manley came to visit over the weekend. They watched Lucy while Mommy and Daddy went to a breastfeeding class at the hospital. When we left the house Lucy said her and the grandparents were going to have a party. I think this is because the last couple of times she has seen her grandparents it has been for a wedding, birthday or the 4th of July.

It has been getting harder and harder to take pictures of Lucy. She has decided that it is not her favorite thing to do so when she sees the camera she will say, "No Please." Or sometimes she simply turns away and won't look at the camera. Above is Lucy cuddling on the guest bed while Daddy plays computer.

Where's Lucy? It occurred to me I haven't given a baby update in a while. My last couple of doctor visits have gone well. When I went on 8/29 they suggested I start wearing compression stockings because I am getting some spider veins and eat Tums for heartburn. I purchased both at the store, but haven't been real good about wearing the stockings. They feel pretty good on my legs, but are REALLY hot. I tend to get warm anyway so it's not so comfy. I went to the doctor again on 9/12. That visit was a little more interesting than normal. The way my OB clinic is set up I have to rotate my visits between 6 doctors and then whoever is on call when I go into labor will deliver our baby. I had a doctor I had not seen before this time, and he sent his nurse practitioner in to measure the baby and answer any questions I might have. I asked her what the position of the baby was and she told me it most likely was transverse (meaning laying side to side instead of head down). From my reading I knew it was early, but if you are transverse closer to the end of your pregnancy it was likely you would have to have a c-section. I asked her if there was anything I could do to help the baby drop and she told me no, but she would schedule an ultrasound and if needed a doctor could manually reposition her. Then she left and sent the doctor in. I was very concerned about this information and right away asked the doctor. He rolled his eyes, said his NP was wrong 90% of the time and he would talk to her about giving patients needless worries. He then felt my tummy and said that she was in fact head down and told me that if women weren't always after each other they would take over the world. So long story short the baby is fine, I am fine. No worries!

Lucy and I planted some more flowers today. Mums this time. I figure they will be good fall decorations. We do not plan on doing any traveling until Christmas (car travel makes prego Robin really irritable this time around) so anyone who wants to venture to Bolingbrook for Thanksgiving is welcome to come enjoy the mums, turkey and New Baby Brown. Our guest bed is spoken for, but we do offer a pull out couch and camping mattresses.

Lucy has the habit of chewing on her shirt buttons at nap time. Not wanting them to fall off and her swallow them, I told her that if she didn't stop it I was going to take her shirt off. So Lucy took a nap today sans shirt and then refused to put one back on when she got up.
