Having so much fun!

We have not started potty training, but it was nice of Santa to bring a chair. Lucy had a lot of fun sitting on her new chair until she decided to stand in it. Then her feet got stuck and she started crying.
Daddy got a hair cut today. Lucy had just bonked her head on the coffee table before I took this picture.
This is Lucy less than a minute later. She recovers fast. We had a follow up visit at the doctor today. He said that Lucy was much better and didn't have much congestion.

We're home

We made it home OK. It was snowing here when we got back and the house was in one piece with a gift from our Realtor on the door. Thank you everyone for a wonderful Christmas trip.

Lucy's first hair cut

Lucy got her first haircut yesterday. Her bangs were starting to get in her eyes and her hair is too fine for barrettes. We went to the same place that I go to get my hair cut. The lady was really nice and Lucy did pretty well. She didn't like having the back of her hair trimmed though. She likes to be able to see what is going on.

Great minds think alike

Lucy got christmas cards from both sets of her grandparents yesterday. She really likes to carry the cards around. Then she will find me and have me read them to her.

It's good to be missed

Today when I dropped Lucy off at daycare her little friend Leah ran to her smiling and gave her a big hug. The teacher said she missed Lucy when she was gone.

Sick Day

Lucy woke up today coughing. And everytime she coughed she would get upset and cry. So Mommy and Lucy took a sick day and have been cuddling in our PJs. She is happily taking her afternoon nap right now.
I decorated our little Christmas tree today and put in on the shelf (out of Lucy range.) We were going to get a big real one, but every weekend something comes up and we don't do it.

Yogurt is yummy.

This is a picture of Lucy eating yogurt earlier in the week. We are working on learning how to use a spoon. She really likes yogurt. She will go to the refrigerator and say "ehhh, ehhh" until I open the door. The she will pick out the one she wants.
This is Lucy today. She is feeling lots better. She woke up from her nap on Friday with her eyes sealed shut with green gunk and a temperate of 101.5. I called the doctor and they said to give her stuff to reduce the fever. It finally broke during the night and we went to the doctor at 10:20 Saturday morning. We were told that Lucy had a bad sinus infection and she is taking an antibiotic for 10 days. This is the first time Lucy has had a fever so high or had to be on antibiotic.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Ray, Linda, Christopher and Claudia. It was my first time cooking the big meal, and I think it went pretty well. No one left hungry.

Busy Day

Lucy has enjoyed the letters she has gotten in the mail. She carries them around and reads them to herself. Unfortunately the little pumpkin on this one from Ray and Linda got torn to bits. But it was lots of entertainment.

We went to two Bolingbrook events today. First we went to the grand opening of the hospital. It was an elaborate ribbon cutting ceremony. They won't start accepting patients until December.

Then we went to the Symphony in Lights at the new outdoor mall.

Ear wax...no joke

I am not going to the Doctor again!!!!

Lucy went to the doctor for the third time in a month today. She went on 10/25 for her normal 15 month checkup and round of shots. Her weight and iron test came back normal, but she had a little fluid on the ear due to some nasal congestion. Nothing unusual for a child her age. On 11/6 we returned to the doctor after Mommy discover blood in Lucy's ear. It turned out it was not an ear infection, but teething and wax build up. Yesterday, Lucy picked her ear again until it bled during nap time so we went back to the doctor just to make sure everything was okay. We saw the nurse practitioner and she said it was still not an ear infection (yay!). Lucy just produces an above average amount of wax and that combined with the pressure of teething makes her pull at her ears. When she is sleeping she doesn't realize how hard she is poking and gives herself ouchies. So now I have to be really conscious about cleaning her ears and not use Q-tips because they just push the wax deeper in. The NP says there isn't anything we can do to slow down the production of wax, we just have to deal and she might grow out of it. She did say it is hereditary...so thanks folks for the ear wax. The Dr. bill is in the mail ;). Poor Lucy has to go back to the doctor the week after Thanksgiving for her Flu shot booster. After that she should be done for a while.

No...mine

My sweet little baby told me "No...mine" today when I told her she was too close to the TV. She likes to push the buttons on the TV, and usually she will just stand there until we move her. Today she looked at me and spoke in defiance. This is the first time she has said either word to me.

Happy Halloween

Jon and Lucy had parties at work and school today. Mommy just had work. We had about 30 trick-or-treaters. We were expecting more so we have lots of candy.

Grandma and Grandpa Manley came to visit over the weekend. We put them to work too. Granpma hemming curtains and Grandpa cleaning the garage. They also got to spend lots of fun time with Lucy and the gang.

Lucy hasn't mastered putting the rings on the pole, but she likes to put them on herself. We didn't teach her this, she just started doing it and it makes her really happy.

Daddy Day

Lucy has spent the day playing with Daddy. Mommy has a terrible head cold. I think I am over the worst of it, but I have spent most of the day in bed or on the couch.
