At nap time today, I thought Lucy was asleep so I laid down. Not 10 minutes later I hear the
pitter patter of little feet and Lucy saying, "Where's
Mama?" Then she was peeking over the side of the bed at me. This is the first time Lucy has gotten out of her big girl bed without me telling her it is okay. I made the mistake of not making her get back into bed (she had been laying down for an hour so I thought maybe she had actually taken a nap).
Apparently not because as the day wore on she got crankier and after supper she fell asleep on our walk.
I had another prenatal visit today. It lasted all of 15 minutes. They checked my
BP, weight, the growth of the fetus, and asked if I had any concerns. The Dr. told me the glucose test from last month came back fine and she didn't have anything to yell at me about so go enjoy the day. I was caught of
guard by this comment, but I'm very happy all is going well. I will go in every two weeks for the next two months. And then every week the last month. Only 81 days to go!
I was really tired yesterday, so Lucy and I stayed inside reading and watching TV all day. To make up for it we had lots of outside time today. We started off the morning by going to the library. Then we went to Home Depot and took advantage of their plant sale. We bought some Cora Vinca (a hardy periwinkle plant) and some Begonias to put in our pot. Lucy really enjoyed putting the soil in the pot, so much so she didn't want to stop. In the picture above she is brushing off her hands after patting down the dirt. She also liked using a pitcher to water the flowers. It amazes me how much she understands. When I told her that we were going to put the flowers in the pot she picked up one of the flowers and placed it container and all in the pot.
Whenever we go on a walk, Lucy always stops to look at all the flowers. I say she used to be a bumble bee because she will touch each one in the center if you let her. We have been meaning to get some flowers for our yard, but for now the ones in the pot are all we have. Maybe next year....
After planting we walked to the park.

Lucy in the swing. Unfortunately the battery on the camera ran out after taking this picture. Lucy is looking at a couple of little girls playing. They are often at the park when we are there. One sister is just older than Lucy and they love playing chase with each other. The other sister a little younger. She likes to give Lucy hugs.
