My Little Angels

Both girls took naps today! In their beds!!! At the same time!!! For more than 30 minutes!!! I got to take one too!!!!

Maggie woke a lot last night, so I am glad we got some rest today.
Lucy played with her toys for about an hour and then conked out.

Oh Christmas Tree

After a great deal of effort, we got our Christmas tree up last week. Jon likes to have a real tree so he picked one up on his way home from work last Wednesday. We got out the decorations only to find that the lights were burt out. We tried to do the whole switch one out at a time, but neither Lucy nor Maggie thought this was a good idea. Lucy grabbed the lights and started running in circles. Maggie just screamed for attention. So we bought new ones and I put the ornanents on the tree from 11pm-1am Friday night. It was all worth it though. Lucy loves the tree. There is also a small fake one in her room that she likes. We are having about the same luck with Christmas cards. Our printer is broken so I need to venture to Kinkos to print the letter. Hopefully I can get that done tonight. And Jon thoughtfully pointed out that some of the address labels I used had his name mispelled. Well crap! That's what I get for being cheap and using the free ones from our insurance agent.

Not-a-smile

Right before this picture, Maggie was smiling and mimicking me. As soon as I got the camera she decided she didn't want to play anymore.

Cheese....good one. Lucy pretends that one of her toys is a camera. She will say, "cheese" then look at the toy and say "good one." It is really funny.

Snug as a bug

Maggie is one cuddly baby. She likes to be held even more than Lucy did (that's a lot!) So, in a effort to be more efficient with my time I bought a sling carrier for Maggie to ride in. Today is the first time I have used it, and Maggie loves it! She has been snoozing away as I make beds, play with Lucy, eat lunch and piddle on the computer. Lucy likes to peek inside. And every once in a while she says, " Maggie is in Mama's belly." Just like old times :).

Maggie was gassy today and wanted to be held much of the day.
Lucy ended up watching a Dora-thon from the comfort of her laundry basket. She even had lunch in there.

Back to work

Daddy survived his first day back at work. He is worn out though. Mama and the girls had a great day. Maggie slept in her bassinet for part of the day, so I got to spend lots of time with Lucy. I also got to take a nap from 3:30 -4:45 while the girls BOTH napped. I was really surprised they both went down so easy for me.

Maggie likes to wave her arms and kick.

Jon went to the store today to buy more diapers. When he got home he gave his change to Lucy for her strawberry. Her response was, "I love money in the strawberry." Being a big sister is hard work. Lucy ate 7 pieces of turkey at lunch as well as her cheese, green beans and milk. Usually she has 3 or 4. She kept saying, "More turkey please." Everyone was right. Lucy does seem enormous now. It is so amazing to see how much a child can grow and learn in just two short years.

We're home. Lucy wants Maggie to be held all the time. She likes to snuggle with her.
Lucy came to see us in the hospital. Jon said she drug him through the hospital so she could see the baby.

She went home and told Grandma Kathy that Baby Maggie is so cute, so little and she pooped her pants.

Lucy got a special present to celebrate Maggie's birthday. Grandma Kathy and Lucy played and had a great time while Mommy, Daddy and Maggie were at the hospital.

I started having contractions early in the morning on Saturday. They did not get regular until Sunday evening and we left for the hospital at 11pm on Sunday.

We are both happy and healthy. Maggie is a great eater.

We got discharged from the hospital at 11am this morning. We are very glad to be home.

Sock puppet

When I got Lucy up from her nap I couldn't find one of her socks. Then I realized it was on her hand.

Maggie's first deadline

I had another Dr. appointment today. Maggie is not ready to come out yet, and if she does not come by 11/12 then they will perform a stress test and ultrasound. Then start the induction process at 6pm on 11/13. Making Maggie's arrival most likely between 10am-noon on Fri 12/14. We are both healthy and happy at this point. What's a few more days in the grand scheme of things?

Tent House

Lucy has had great fun playing in her tent house the past few days. Lucy likes to play tent by throwing a blanket over Mama and herself. Only I get to hot when we do this, so I set up this house for her to play in instead.

Libby likes the tent house too.

A penny saved

Grandma Kathy is teaching Lucy to save her pennies. The strawberry penny bank was mine when I was a kid. Grandma gave Lucy all the coins out of her purse to put in the strawberry. I thought she was nuts to think Lucy would want to put money in the bank, but Lucy really enjoyed the task.

She put all the money in and asked for more. So Mama emptied out her wallet.

Grandma Kathy also had my brother Chris's money jar to split between the girls, so Lucy put that money in her bank too.

P.S. Maggie seems comfy in my tummy, so that is where she stays.
